Eligibility
We can help you if you are:
- Aged 18 years or over
- Have had issues with drugs and/or alcohol
- Looking to become totally substance-free and make positive changes in your life
Additional information and requirements
- We require client’s GP Summary and Offending History. This can be uploaded during application process.
- People with dual diagnoses (both mental health and substance misuse issues) may need an additional assessment in order to ensure we can meet their needs
- We can accept clients with GP-prescribed medications, however there are exceptions which will be discussed thoroughly with you. In some cases, you will need to speak with your GP regarding alternative medications
- If there is a risk that someone might pose a high risk of harm to others or themselves, we may not be able to accept their application. However, we will always jointly assess such cases before making a decision
- Our building has limited wheelchair access, so we are unable to accommodate clients with significant mobility issues
- All offers of treatment are subject to written confirmation of funding. However, if you’re not able to secure funding from your local authority we may be able to support you through our bursary scheme
- For ex-offenders on licence, all offers of treatment are subject to approval by probation
- Clients must have either gone detox or have had a period of abstinence prior to admission. Clients must be able to provide a negative alcohol breath test result on arrival and will need to submit to a drug screening during admission.
My experience of placing local authority service users in The Bridges has always been positive. The staff maintain contact around progress during the service user’s treatment and the support The Bridges provide pre, during and post-discharge is invaluable. The links to community recovery are second to none.
